Tattoos are considered cool or frowned upon depending on your point of view. A person with a tattoo is considered a maverick. The best example of this is the problems people with visible tattoos have in getting jobs. Note that I said visible. If you have a tattoo on your chest or back that is covered with clothing, the unseen tattoo will not become a factor in your chances to get a job. Most people overcome this by getting tattoos they can conceal during working situations and flaunt in social situations. People that get tattoos regard themselves as part of a separate community, with the tattoos as the ink that binds them.

Within the tattoo community there are two factions – the outsiders and the purists. These factions are not rival groups but hardcore or elite and then the amateurs. The elite believe that a tattoo should be created for a reason. There is a quote about tattoos that goes ‘Show me a man with a tattoo and I’ll show you a man with an interesting past’. A tattoo is supposed to have a story behind it. A tattoo that does not celebrate or commemorate a moment of your life is not considered a real tattoo but a decoration by the elite tattoo community.

Although a tattoo is art, and art as we know is free for all. Most people do not understand the art that they encounter everyday in their lives. I am not talking about tattoos only. It could be a modified car or wall art. To understand the art you need to be attuned to the artist or creator. A very good example of this is the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa is one of the most celebrated works of art in the world. If you look at it, it is a painting of a not too attractive woman standing or sitting in front of an insignificant background. So why is it famous then?

The answer lies with the artist – Leonardo Da Vinci is considered a genius. This has extended to his work. The Mona Lisa may just be a crappy painting, commissioned by a wealthy lord and painted only because he needed the money. We do not know. Whatever the story behind the painting, it’s this story that has made the Mona Lisa famous. The same thing goes for tattoos. You might have the most beautiful and symmetric tattoo, but it will be forgotten fast if there is no story behind it. These are pretty strong opinions, but let me give you another analogy.

Let’s imagine you meet a girl with a tattoo of a butterfly. In the course of the conversation the tattoo she has comes up and she tells you that she wanted to get a tattoo and since butterflies are pretty, she got a tattoo of a butterfly. You move on in the conversation and maybe forget about it. Now imagine if she told you that the butterfly is to commemorate a special day or a day that changed her life, you are intrigued and want to know more. You ask, and she tells you. Now the conversation has gone to different level and the both of you are connecting.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying do not get a tattoo. I’m saying get one for the right reasons.

Choosing a tattoo can be stressful because it’s so long-term; a tattoo is so permanent. Making the wrong decision can be painful, costly and inconvenient. There are so many factors to consider before making the final decision on a Cool Tattoo Design, including size, color, meaning, style and placement of the design as well as the artist you choose to help you get the tattoo you want.

Art is not only limited to paper or wood or stone. Now-a-days art does not necessarily means a painting on the canvas or a sculpture. Body art is an emerging form of art. A person’s body serves as a canvas for different form of art like tattooing, piercing and mehendi. Though it is still gaining recognition the art of piercing and painting the body was there since ancient times. Tribal villagers used to paint their bodies and pierce different parts of their body to wear ornaments. They did this mainly due to follow their local customs and cultures. At present tattooing and piercing is a form of a style statement. Body art is mainly an expression of a person’s individuality and freedom of spirit. Body art can be again of different forms.

Tattoo – Tattoo is a very common form of body art. A tattoo can be either permanent or temporary. A permanent tattoo lasts forever but the process is immensely painful. So if you are not that courageous you should go for a temporary tattoo which is not at all painful but that does not last for long. A tattoo can be done on any part of your body. If you can not come up with your own design you can search the net for one. There are many websites that will give you thousands of designs to choose from. The designs vary from dragons, skulls, animals to butterflies, flowers and even abstracts. Some websites even offer downloadable temporary tattoos and also tattoo stencils. One such website is the tattoo Johnny website. You can download the tattoo stencil from the website and take the printout to the local tattoo parlor and get the tattoo permanently on your skin.

Piercing – Body piercing is another form of art. Ear piercing is the most common form of piercing. Most women pierce their ears when they are just little girls. When they grow up they get some more piercing on their ear. Men also pierce their ears. Piercing other parts of your body is also quite famous now. You can pierce your nose, your tongue, your cheeks, your eyebrows and if you are more brave and courageous you can also try piercing your nipples, your navel or your genitals. Piercing is done mainly due to wear jewellery and there are different kinds of jewellery with which you can flaunt your piercings.

Nail art – Nail art is yet another form of body art. It is mainly adorned by women. It is a form of art where a woman’s nails are painted with color. You can also keep them nude and just apply a coat of glossy nail polish or you can also go for a French manicure if you want to keep it simple. In order to glamorize your nails a bit you can apply some bright colored nail polish and stick stones and make patterns or you can also use different colors together. If you have short nails you can also use artificial nails that are easily available.

One such website is the tattoo johnny website. You can download the tattoo stencil from the website and take the printout to the local tattoo parlor and get the tattoo permanently on your skin.

Henna tattooing is a fun and beautiful and artistic way to experiment with. A traditional practice brought down to the new generation genres of artistic expression. What makes it even cooler is the fact that you can enjoy body art or body painting without permanently branding your skin and being stuck with it forever.

Henna tattooing is just drawing or painting designs into the skin with henna tattoo paste made from natural ingredients that are safe and cheaper than ink and permanent tattoos. You will only need powdered henna leaves with black coffee or tea liquid. It is so easy to do, cheaper and you can even do it on your own at home.

You need but three things; a design of your own or one from the many henna tattoo design available in the market, materials for the henna tattoo paste and applicator and know how to make the henna tattoo paste. So easy are the steps that a beginner may follow through.

How to make henna paste?

Things you will need:

Henna leaves (powdered)
Coffee or tea
Eucalyptus or lavender/olive oil
Water

How to- steps

1. Boil water and add coffee powder or tea bag. Allow it to settle for hours then strain it with a strainer to remove the coffee or tea grounds.

2. Add at least 3 teaspoon of henna powder and mix it with about a teaspoon of eucalyptus, an olive or lavender oil.

3. Then, add the coffee or tea liquid gradually until it turns to paste.

4. Leave the henna paste for about 6 to 12 hours for the paint to set and for best results. Once it has turned into a toothpaste-like liquid, it is therefore ready to use.

Once the henna paste is done then, you are all set to paint your henna tattoo. Some people use bottle tubes, toothpicks or any pointed material you can use to etch your paint. However, some people who are experts you might call, use their fingers.

For better results, it would be wiser to steam the skin before starting with the paint because, henna stains darker in warmer surfaces. After you are done with the henna tattoo, let it dry and stay for hours before washing it or removing the paste because, henna stains darken after 48 hours. You can also use hair drier to make it dry faster. You may also use a plastic tape to cover the henna tattoo and keep it warmer but, make sure that you place a tissue underneath to prevent smudging and soak the perspiration.

How cool can that be?! No pain, so easy and you get something as good as a permanent ink tattoo. Perhaps even better!

These days being in style means having some kind of body art whether it be classic tattoos, or some awesome body piercings, or something not quite so permanent like body paint temporary tattoos. With so many ways to express yourself in an artistic, stylish and individual way, it can kind of be overwhelming trying to figure it all out. That is why we are going to give you a simple rundown of the different kinds of body art that are available for you to exhibit who you are.

While a lot of people out there may think that getting body piercings are a little more radical than getting tattoos, what they tend to forget is many people of both sexes get their ears pierced while they are very young, so why is that not seen as extreme? It is no different for someone to want to get their eyebrows, nose, tongue, or abdomen pierced than it is for someone to get it done to their ears. When you take a look at the other forms of body art, like tattooing and body paint, you very rarely find an artist willing to do facial art, which leaves piercing the only real way to express yourself artistically on your face. When you see facial and body piercings in this way, as just an accent to your personality, then you can see the beauty in the different kinds of piercings that you can get, from your face, to your abdomen, to just about anywhere you can think of.

Moving on to the other very popular and artistically stylish forms of body art, tattoos and your body paint temporary tattoos. With your classic tattoos, the kind where the ink is inserted into the skin, there are a variety of styles and types that you can get. You’ve got your basic black and white ink, to the insanely crazy UV ink that can only be seen under a black light (which is great for you ravers out there). On top of that, you’ve got some great choices when it comes to styling because there is a style for whatever you want to exhibit on your body, whether it is a tribal archaic style, or the ultra-realistically detailed and properly shaded naturalistic style, or if it is your classic dedication or memorial tattoo with the old heart and banner.

Now, last but certainly not least by any means, let’s get a quick overview of the temporary tattoos. Over the past couple of years these kinds of non-permanent tattoos have absolutely skyrocketed in terms of popularity, especially with the younger crowd that aren’t quite old enough to get the permanent kind. These kinds of tattoos are basically nothing more than body paint, like the super popular Henna style ones, and they can last between two or three weeks which is fantastic for people that want to change up their style from time to time.

As you can see, there are tons of choices for you to make when it comes to choosing how you want the rest of the world to see you. There are all manner of body piercings that are the perfect artistic accent to your personality, to your classic permanent ink tattoos which are the ultimate way to express yourself and who you are. And let’s not forget about the most adaptable style of body art, those temporary body paint tattoos which are all the rage these days. If you want to express yourself to the world, then there is one form of body art or another that can allow you to do it the way you want.

I’m sure you must have more questions about tattoos and piercings!

There are many choices to permanent tattooing. It does not have to be the wipe and stick decals found in machines. There is a quick method available to those who do not wish to be left with a lasting mark and who also do not want the pain and risk associated with permanent inking. The airbrush tattoo has risen in popularity due to its ease of application. It is very similar, and could indeed be called the same thing, as the sunless tanning applications found at tanning salons.

Tips For Making Your Own Airbrush Tattoo

In the process of creating an airbrush tattoo a design template is placed on clean, dry skin. The colors are selected and loaded into a specialized air gun which will blow pressurized air out in short burst when the trigger is compressed. The airbrush tattoo artist places the colors where the customer indicated upon the design and then will apply a top coat to help ensure longevity of the tattoo designs.

How Airbrushing Works

The process is actually identical to that of painting a car. It is best to layer the color than to apply too heavy of a coat. The heavier the paint is then the more chance for runs to occur. Clean up for the artist is very simple. An alcohol solution on a cotton ball can remove any of the excess paint or smudges. As with the temporary tattoo, the airbrush tattoo is limited in the amount of time it will last. Repeated showers or baths and articles of clothing rubbing against it will cause the tattoo to erode. But unlike its permanent counterpart, the artwork does not have to be removed with a costly tattoo removal procedure. Temporary body art designs are created with airbrush paints, stencils & temporary airbrush supplies. They can be showcased like a Ideas For Temporary Tattoo Airbrush

If you are always wracking your brain trying to come up with new ways to provide excitement at your child’s birthday party then consider hiring an airbrush tattoo artist to come in and give the kids tattoos. The kids will have a blast sporting their new ‘ink’ and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that it is not permanent. Plus even the parents can live a little and get that special tattoo they have always wanted.

The drawback to the airbrush tattoo, besides its lack of permanency, is that they are often hard to find. Tattoo parlors usually do not offer these less expensive features. Many times it becomes a matter of finding someone familiar with airbrush design. A good source could be a local nail salon. Many nail designs feature airbrush art and the operator could easily do one on the skin. The difference would be in the paint.

It is really easy to get caught up in the spur of the moment decisions. College kids are notorious for inking their bodies while in school only to find it a hindrance later. Did they really want that picture of a naked cheerleader on the back of their neck, especially when they are trying to get a job interview at a conservative company? If you find a design you really like and you are positive you want to get it done, consider an airbrush tattoo first. If you still like it after a while then go get the real deal.

Armed with this information, you can know make dealing with a new tattoo a lot more confidently. Perhaps even look at becoming a tattoo artist yourself. All About Laser Tattoo Removal

Body adornment has always included body painting, tattooing, and other kinds of body art, this has been the case over the ages; but in recent times, body art has become more varied and endlessly creative. It now includes variations such as, Face Painting & Body Art, Gestational Painting (or Pregnant Belly Art), and Temporary Tattoos: Glitter, Henna & Body Illustration. It is now so popular that it is common practice for a body artist or a face painter to be invited to a social gathering like a party or a wedding, corporate events and promotions, so that the guests can take home a unique memento to remember the party by.

Body art is that art which is made on, with, or consisting of, the human body. It also includes scarification, branding, scalpelling, shaping (for example tight-lacing of corsets), full body tattoo and body painting.

Primitive and tribal societies have some marvellous (if painful looking) examples of body art, such as earlobe stretching among many African tribes, and many other kinds of piercings.

Tattooing was a method of identification for old timers in India, when illiterate people would typically have their own name tattooed on a visible part of the body such at the back of the hand or the forearm.

The significance of henna at wedding ceremonies in India is now well known, with one entire pre-wedding event dedicated to what is known as the ‘mehndi ceremony’. All the females in the bride’s entourage would typically gather to have henna artist make intricate, elaborate and beautiful henna patterns in the hands, arms and feet as part of the wedding celebraions.

The World Body Painting Festival is held in Austria in the third week of July, which is the biggest festival of its kind. There are different categories of competitions, brush and sponge, airbrush, and special effects. A UV effects contest is also part of this festival. All models must be wearing underpants while painted, but female models can go topless if they want. It is a singular experience to be used as an artists’ canvas, so many participants of the festival offer themselves as models without any charge.

The Australian Body Art Carnivale is an event that celebrates the creative genius involved in body art and body painting and will be held this year over the coming weekend in September in Edmundi. “This “Festival of Colour” drawing together cutting-edge artists from around the globe, who will create masterpieces before your eyes using the human body as their inspiration – and canvas!Aside from the spectacular full body art and some serious face painting, the Carnivale will also include traditional Aboriginal body painting, pavement art, a wearable art competition and parade, photographic competitions and a visual art exhibition called “Art of the Body” as well as life drawing and sculpting workshops.”

Body art as a method of beatification has been around literally for millennia and will doubtless be around for centuries more; what form it will take; well that is your guess being as good as mine.

When my older brother got his first tattoo, it was a cross symbol near his left shoulder blade, and my parents nearly blew a gasket. Perhaps it was a generational conflict, but neither my father nor my mother could understand what made their dear son to get a tattoo out of a sudden impulse. My brother, who was then an up-and-rising medical student with a promising future, decided to mark his body physically and his life figuratively with a ‘tramp mark’ (in my mother’s words). Oh, the horror!

My brother tried to explain his actions: “I just needed a way to express myself. I wanted to break away from the standards and expectations of society and do something that resembles a little of me.”

Maybe his explanation was less articulate, but that was the gist of his message. Unfortunately, tattoos often get a bad reputation mostly due to the misconceived stigma attached to body. Contrary to the belief that getting tattoos is a recent phenomenon, its history actually existed way beyond the modern norms. In the old days, body art is used to signify family honour in some cultures, or it marked a warrior’s bravery after fighting in a war. Sometimes, lovers or long lost relatives identify each other through the markings on their bodies. Evidently, there could be a poignant significance to getting a tattoo.

Personally, I believe tattoos are beautiful, not just in its physical appearance, but also the emotional connotation and social message that it delivers. In fact, I look at tattoos as if they are a statement of self-confidence. People with body art are comfortable in their own skin – literally!

Before you rush out and get a tattoo however, there are several factors you should consider beforehand. The tattoo design is obviously the forefront issue. You want an image that will reflect positively on your beliefs and values. My brother got a cross tattoo because faith and spirituality matter very much to him, for example. Since the tattoo will likely last forever on your body, you definitely don’t want to pick a silly or even derogatory symbol for yourself.

Speaking of design, choosing the right tattoo ink is also an important consideration. What colours best match your skin tone? Naturally, the black-and-white tattoos are less expensive than the colour ones; however, brightly coloured tattoos stand out and may have more significant impact. Please keep in mind that the colours do fade over time.

The tattoo parlour that you visit should adhere to the basic health and safety guidelines. Always check with the professional tattoo artist whether the tattoo equipment is sterilized beforehand. In fact, a new tattoo needle should be used for each client, so always check if this is the case before you start the tattooing process. Otherwise, you run the risk of getting skin infection, which is a complicated health issue that we will address in another time.

From my brother’s experience, he said that getting a tattoo was surprisingly painless. Recent technologies have made it possible for the tattooing process to feel like a minor sting, or even like a tickle. However, since there will be a needle piercing through your skin, you ought to have some kind of pain tolerance while getting a tattoo.

Finally, my last piece of advice is simple: be yourself! If getting tattoos is supposed to signify your self-confidence, then don’t feel pressured by how others perceive your tattoo. Their notions of body art are obviously different than yours, so just agree to disagree. Likewise, if you don’t want to get a tattoo, you shouldn’t feel pressured by your peers and friends into getting one. After all, the most important thing about getting tattoos is the ability to feel comfortable in your own skin.

Face painting is an emerging trend and can be said to be a form of temporary tattoos or body art, whatever you call it.

Usually it is done at parties for kids where themes such as spiderman, hulk or hallooween themes are used.

Different themes require different types of paintings. The only thing that remains constant in all of them is the fun factor. The best part is that since these are done by using temporary tattoo paints and lasts only as long as they wish, they can do all sorts of experiments and use even some really stupid face paintings. I mean, they can be as crazy as they want to since its harmless fun.

Now, I would like to tell you something surprise you and that is that it is not only the kids who get their face painted but also adults although the types of designs vary a lot.

Some adults like to paint their faces with the symbol of their favourite soccer team, while others do it with their national flag. Actually, this is a very common sight in sporting events such as soccer, tennis or the Olympics where people are cheering for their countrymen.

The only thing that they need to be careful about is the temporary tattoo paints that they use on their faces because if they are not careful, then they might end up with some sort of lousy infection or skin disease which might even give a bad look on their faces.

It was not too long ago that tattoos were considered taboo and were frowned upon by the majority of society. Such entities were only found on bikers, ex-convicts, and miscreants of all forms. However, today body art painting is considered a valid art form and is steadily gaining popularity. The artists have training much like the artists who create on canvas or with clay; the only difference is the medium. Some tattoo artists can recreate masterpieces and portraits on the skin of their clients that could rival Picasso or Da Vinci.

Popular Tattoos – Body Art Designs
Tattoos are a very personal matter. After all, the chosen design is going to be a part of your body for the rest of your life. However, as with most things, there are trends that exist. Many love the tribal tattoos with their flowing lines. The traditional tattoos of anchors and birds are making a comeback. Celtic symbols are now very popular because their meanings are generally common to most races and universal in nature.

Many women tend to get tattooed on their ankles, wrists, and lower back; this is where the curves are! Men will generally prefer it on their fore arms, biceps, and upper back.

Body Art Painting
Unlike tattoos, body art is temporary and painted onto the skin. It can last for a few hours or up to a few weeks. It is said that body painting is one of the most ancient art forms. Now, body painting is quite popular in both amateur and commercial arenas, and not all “pieces” involve nudity. Many body artists will include small designs on one area of the body. There are numerous festivals held each year in New York and New Mexico where thousands flock to see the vibrantly coloured participants. The modern revival of body art painting can be dated back to the 1950’s when artists would cover a model’s body in paint (typically female) and have her roll on a canvas to transfer the paint. The results were intriguing – all the curves of the female body in either monotone or mixed coloring.

A research shows that 3 out of 10 American’s have a tattoo printed on their bodies. These are located in either exposed or hidden parts of the body. The same research shows that 50 percent of them have regretted having the tattoo. The common reason, according to surveys, why they regret having a tattoo is because they fail to land a job. Most reputable companies require their employees to have “clean” skin.

True enough, most high-profile companies today only consider applicants who do not have odd and weird-looking body art and piercings. In the past, a tattoo was an art popular to gangsters and people who have deviant behaviors. As such, tattooed individuals are often perceived to be the bad persons. It is a prejudice that still holds true in today’s world, no matter how advanced our society has become.

If you want to have your tattoo removed, there are very good options for you to do so. Nowadays, there are the removal of tattoo that’s available to remove the once permanent body art. The surgical and non-surgical tattoo removal programs give a person options on how to remove tattoos.

The removal of tattoo do also have different prices. The surgical method is expensive and the non-surgical is affordable but it takes longer to remove the tattoo this way. In some parts of America, there are tattoo removal teens programs that help young gang members remove their gang related tat. The tattoo removal program is an attempt by the government to improve there life.
